CONTROVERSY
In recent weeks, Canadians have heard a lot about how their country has become
the world's leading source of movie piracy, but a new report says that that
claim is much ado about nothing, featuring unsubstantiated and inconsistent
claims about DVDs recorded on camcorders, exaggerations about its economic
harm and misleading critiques of Canadian law.

For the second time in four months, Viacom has demanded that video-sharing
website YouTube remove all content from its networks -- including MTV, Comedy
Central, Spike, CMT and BET -- an estimated 100,000 total clips. In October,
at the behest of Viacom, YouTube removed thousands of videos. A few days later,
Viacom said the site could keep up short clips from Comedy Central shows, but
not entire episodes. That touched off the negotiations between Viacom, and
Google, which bought YouTube last year.
